We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Facilities Manager to join a busy manufacturing site in Lathom, West Lancashire. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience coordinating facilities, maintenance, contractors or site projects to take the next step in their career.
Working closely with the Facilities Manager, you will support the day-to-day management of the site, coordinate maintenance activities and contractors, and help ensure facilities and projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with relevant legislation.
The Role
As Assistant Facilities Manager, you will play an important role in the day-to-day management of site facilities, supporting maintenance activities, contractors and improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement routine and preventative maintenance activities.
- Support the Facilities Manager with the day-to-day management of site facilities.
- Coordinate and communicate with internal departments and contractors.
- Liaise with permanent and temporary contractors to ensure work is delivered effectively.
- Support the successful delivery of site projects.
- Ensure facilities and maintenance activities comply with relevant legislation and site requirements.
- Update and maintain site drawings and technical documentation.
- Prioritise maintenance and facilities workloads according to operational requirements.
- Monitor contractor activities and ensure work is completed to the required standards.
- Assist with site inspections and maintain appropriate records.
- Identify opportunities to improve site facilities, maintenance and reliability.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to facilities and maintenance activities.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience within facilities, maintenance, engineering, manufacturing or a similar industrial environment.
- Experience coordinating contractors and external suppliers.
- Experience supporting maintenance programmes, projects or site improvement activities.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organisational and workload prioritisation skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work with employees, contractors and other stakeholders.
- A professional and proactive approach to health, safety and compliance.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities within a busy operational environment.
