Roofing Surveyor

Salary: £50,000–£60,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Site-based / UK travel as required

The Company

Our client is a well-established and highly respected pitched and flat roofing contractor

Due to continued growth and an upcoming retirement within the surveying team, they are looking to appoint an experienced Roofing Surveyor.

The Role

As a Roofing Surveyor, you will be responsible for carrying out detailed surveys of commercial and industrial roofing systems, identifying defects and providing practical recommendations for repair, replacement and refurbishment.

You will work closely with clients, contractors, manufacturers and the internal commercial team to assess roofing requirements and develop accurate scopes of work.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out detailed roof and building surveys.
• Inspecting existing pitched and flat roofing systems.
• Identifying defects, deterioration, water ingress and potential causes of failure.
• Producing clear survey reports and recommendations.
• Preparing scopes of work for repair, refurbishment and replacement projects.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and existing building information.
• Liaising with clients, main contractors, consultants and manufacturers.
• Providing technical advice on suitable roofing systems and solutions.
• Assisting with project pricing and estimating where required.
• Obtaining technical and product information from manufacturers.
• Identifying potential commercial and technical risks.
• Attending site meetings and client meetings.
• Supporting the contracts and commercial teams through to project delivery.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience within the UK roofing or construction industry.
• Previous experience as a Roofing Surveyor, Roofing Estimator, Contracts Manager or similar.
• Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems.
• Experience with flat roofing systems, including single-ply, liquid waterproofing, hot melt and built-up felt.
• Good understanding of pitched roofing would be advantageous.
• Ability to identify roofing defects and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Confident reading drawings, specifications and technical information..
